N.P.A.
CAMERA VARIATION 4 WITH ANTHONY'S STEREOSCOPIC SHUTTER
E.
& H.T. Anthony & Company, New York 1900 - 1901
Anthony N.P.A. Camera
Variation 4 equipped with Anthony lenses and an Anthony Stereoscopic Shutter. Although unmarked and unnamed as such
by Anthony, I've called this "Anthony's
Stereoscopic Shutter" pending better information.
This N.P.A. Variation 4 has two wheel stop lenses marked
"E. & H.T. Anthony & Co., Single Achromatic", and the
camera's ivoroid maker's tag reads "E. & H.T. Anthony & Co., New
York and Chicago":
Anthony's catalogues for 1900 and 1901, both depicted and
offered this Anthony stereoscopic lens and shutter configuration for their
Champion and O.N.A. Equipment outfits, but don't indicate it as being available
for the N.P.A. Camera. However, this N.P.A. Variation 4, only offered for
1900-1901, is shown here equipped as such.
Although a turn-of-the-century piece, its stereo lenses
and simple wood-encased shutter makes it look much older. In this
configuration, the N.P.A. is an
attractive Anthony camera that's almost never seen today.
For more information on Anthony's Stereoscopic Shutter, look for it under the "Shutters" section of this
website.
